Here is the recipe for the salsa roja sauce:

Ingredients:

1 tin chopped tomatoes (or 3 fresh ripe ones, blended)

2 dried chillies (guajillo or arbol), soaked & chopped

1 garlic clove, minced

½ tsp cumin

1 tbsp olive oil

Salt and sugar to taste

Method:

In a pan, heat oil. Fry garlic and cumin for 30 sec.

Add chillies and tomatoes.

Simmer 10–15 mins, blend if you want it smooth.

Season with salt and a pinch of sugar.

💡💡if you want to add a smokier flavour add a bit of chipotle paste 💨💨
